TeeTee Triumph!!!

Hayden has shown no interest in the potty really...just too busy doing other things. He will sit there just to make me happy, but is really ready to get back to playing...Tonight I asked him if he wanted to use the potty before his bath, he agreed. He sat on his soccerball potty and I think without even realizing it, did his thing! I yelled and screamed, Chloe cheered and he looked at us like we were crazy! We celebrated and he lost interest pretty quickly...I am excited, but we'll see what happens tomorrow :)

A Trip to Mimi and Bopaws

Our Daddy has gone Dove hunting...again...so we headed off to Mimi and Bopaws for a night. The kids couldn't wait to get there. We made Mimi's bday cake, took her to dinner at Chili's and came back for a pajama party on Mimi's bed!
Chloe was picking out decorations for Mimi's cake and we ended up with Winnie the Pooh...she was just positive that that was Mimi's favorite!
Watching America's Funniest Videos...
Saturday we visited my grandparents, went to the park, took long naps :), went to the beach and ended our night with pizza before we headed home. As you can see from the pics, the plan was just to play on the beach and only put our feet in the water...but it was such a beautiful night and the water was perfect so after a LOT of begging, mommy gave in and we got in the water, clothes and all! They had the best time riding the waves and swimming in their clothes. Anything out of the ordinary is much more fun! What a great weekend we had! Happy Birthday Mimi! No, let's just put our feet in...Oh, just go ahead!!!!!!!Chloe and Bobba Ruth

Saved by the Mimi!

I was blessed with a stomach bug this week and just felt rotten. My mom, the angel she is, offered to come and help with the kids so I could rest today after arguing for a while but then decided it was a great plan. The kids were thrilled when she walked in early this morning and they played and played while I slept and slept! We were all sad to see her go but I am feeling a little more human now.

Small Town

There are some things I don't love about being in a small town. Not all of the conveniences...The lack of having a grocery store is the a big one! (ours just closed) But, there are so many things I do love. I just had a conversation about this with a friend lately and I really do love it. The ability to get into Dallas quickly but more importantly, the ability to GET OUT just as fast. We have the best of both worlds, a golf course in the front yard and a 1/2 acre in the back. Can't complain. It's quiet, people are friendly....and more importantly to my kids...we have the Cotton Festival. Not a huge deal to those who don't live here (not even to some who do), but my kids can't wait for it each year. I mean really, who doesn't love a corny dog and a funnel cake? We had a great time again this year, a little hot the first night, a little crowded the 2nd and a little hurricane rain the 3rd. All in all, we got our fill and will be ready for it again next year!

Daniel and the Beanstalk!

As we were eating lunch today I asked Chloe about her new Sunday school class (they promoted today) and she was telling me about her new teacher and her friends. I asked her what story and bible verse they learned today. She said "you know, Daniel and the beanstalk". Craig and I laughed until we cried. Anxious to hear about next week...may be Goldilocks and the three wisemen!

Daddy Tell me Important Things

Chloe's new thing is wanting to talk...no, wait, she's always wanted to talk, but now she wants to be participate in every conversation. At dinner she'll say, "Daddy, tell me important things like you're telling mommy" or when we're riding in the car Craig and I will be talking and she'll say "Excuse me mommy but tell me important things too". Just shows my little girl is growing up. (or that she's super nosy!)

Craig decided on a whim to go play golf on Thursday. He decided to take Chloe with him. Did she ever feel important then???? I'm sure there were lots of important conversations on that golfcart!

Best Buds!

Yesterday I kept Jennifer's kids so she and Mark could house hunt. They are hopefully moving a little closer to us which would be GREAT! The kids had a blast together. We started with a marching band, then they drug out every single toy we own just in time to go outside...soooooo, we played in the sandbox, in the sprinkler, in the water hose, in the dirt, with bubbles and on the jeep. Got in the house, got baths and clothes on just in time for some yummy pizza followed by popsicles. We ended our fun with Carson and Chloe getting married, Cole falling asleep in the highchair and Hayden buidling the circus (not that we didn't already have the live show!).

First Day of Preschool!

The first day of school finally arrived! Chloe was thrilled, Hayden was excited and mommy a little of both mixed with anxiety and sadness. Why you ask would I be sad when I would have 2 days a week with 5 kid free hours??????? It's just the end of one priceless chapter in my life and the beginning of another great adventure for my kids. I know preschool is so good for them, socially, academically and thankfully at our school...spiritually. They will learn so many new things and make many new friends. For Chloe it will be the last year before Kindergarten so that's bittersweet for me and Hayden, well I am letting go of him for the first time. So...with sadness aside and crying quietly in the bathroom :)....I must say at the same time.......WOOHOO!
Chloe had a great first day! She is in Ms. Rebecca's class with her friends Charlie and Natalie. She couldn't wait to get to her room and get started. She was concerned about Hayden and the fact that I wouldn't have any children to take care of at home :). She explained school to him on the way and walked him into his room and kissed him bye.

Hayden is in Ms. Trish's class with his friends Ross and Will. He went straight for the play-doh and waved and said "bye mommy". That did make it a little easier on me. His teacher said he had a great day too...Thursday will be the real test!!
All in all a great start to a great year. Hopefully now I will have clean laundry and a perfectly clean and straight house!
