Little Chef

I am 99.9% positive that Hayden's lifes calling is to be a chef! He'd rather stand on a chair and help me cook than anything else. He wants to know exactly what we're cooking and how we're cooking it. He'll say "where did this come from"...about EVERYthing :) He wants to see it, smell it, taste it. I will just walk into the kitchen to start and before I know it, he has pulled his chair up and is ready to go!(I have to be very careful :)

He's changing so much these days. He knows his colors pretty good, some of the letters, but not really as interested in that as cooking :) He is a rough and tough boy but he is definitely tender-hearted. He doesn't always act nice but he's quick to fix things when he doesn't. He can't stand for anyone to be hurt or upset. He loves his superheroes and is very specific about which batman he is looking for. He unlike Chloe at that age has to have something in his hand all of the time and wants to sleep with all of them! He repeats just about everything Chloe says and does just about everything she does. He like sister has very good language skills, can talk circles around us :)

Crazy Cousins!

We had Caleb and Kenzie for the weekend and boy did my kids think they were in heaven. They adore them. We picked them up Friday night, went for ice cream before making the treck back home, bought matching pjs (Caleb is a good sport :) and came home for a late night pajama party. The boys watched Star Wars while the girls actually chose to have a tea party instead. We all hit the bed about 11:00 and Thanks to Caleb! we got up early Sat morning and went for donuts. They played and played all morning - I think every single super hero was on the floor of the playroom before we headed to Van the next afternoon to see Nawna. Then after a great visit and a baby shower we headed back to Weatherford Sunday afternoon. Kids had a great time but were worn out!!!<

Reflections...

Lately it seems like I have just been floating above my body, just watching everything and trying to take it all in. 2008 was a great year but ended up being a very trying year. I have always been on the other side of cancer so you just never expect it to happen to you or your family. When you get news like we did it really does change your life and the way you look at things. You really start taking one day at a time and enjoying the little things, you hold onto hugs a little longer and you never leave without saying "I Love You". So many things go through your mind, wonderful memories and hope that we will have the chance to make many more, but also the human side that is just plain scared. I know God is in control, I know He has a plan and I have TOTAL faith that he can bring healing. It's just so scary to think that He may have a very different plan. I have had friends go through this before and you never know what to say, I just always say "I am praying for you", but never feel like that's enough. What I have learned...it is. We have been surrounded by wonderful friends and family that are covering us in a blanket of prayer...we feel it. It is carrying us.

Wow! This is the best!

That was exactly what Chloe said when she walked in and saw what Santa had brought them. She was so excited after hearing Santa's bells and she was sure she heard the bag drop out of the chimney. Magic was in the air this year. She got her swim to me puppy and hayden got his train table! When we asked him what santa was bringing it was a train table, a train table, a train table and a train table!

We had a wonderful Christmas morning and enjoyed a warm day to play with all our news things and jump on the new trampoline before heading to Mimi and Bopaw's for Bobba Faye's traditional Chrismtas Eve chicken friend steak dinner.
