Texas Project

Chloe had a Texas project for school and we just happened to be going to Fredericksburg for the weekend to see our new baby cousin so we decided to take a quick trip to San Antonio and Austin. Craig has a relative, Thomas J. Rusk, that was a big part of Texas History, so we decided to do a little research! Turns out, he was very instrumental in the Battle of SanJacinto, signed the Texas Declaration of Independence and was a Supreme Court Justice. IT was very exciting to see his picture at the capitol building and learn more about him. So, Chloe learned all about her Great, great, great, great, great grandfather and was very proud :)

Tball and Softball Season Begins!

Hayden wanted to play tball this year so Chloe decided she would join in on the fun. We didn't realize she would be playing machine pitch, fast-pitch softball, but we dug our heals in :) We started the year with a parade. Each team made their own floats and the we headed off to our first games!

New baby cousin :)

Uncle Brian and Aunt Nichole had a baby girl in January but we weren't able to be there. We went to Fredericksburg this weekend to meet baby Avery. She is so sweet. She slept a lot but we all got to hold her and love on her. She is tiny and has tons of black hair like Chloe did when she was a baby. We shopped around the square and even took her for ice cream. We are all so excited to have a new baby in the family. We had a great trip and can't wait to see her again!

Spring Break 2011!!

We did lots of fun things over Spring Break this year. We stayed close to home for the most part, just enjoying playing at the park, going to Mimi and Bopaws and playing with our friends.

We took our big group to the zoo on Friday, which was C-razy! We still had fun, didn't see many animals because it was so crowded, but we had fun in the water! We loved getting to be with the Houser Clan!

Chloe and Nat

When our trip to Fredericksburg didn't work out we decided to take a trip to Granbury and GlenRose. We had the best time! We went to Dinosaur Valley and saw the dino tracks, played in the river and even ran into our buddies The Mitchell's on the river. We played and played and met up for dinner at Babes that night. On our little adventure, we also went to a drive-in movie in our jammies!! No matter where we go, the highlight is always staying at a hotel and swimming, they'd be happy to do that in Crandall (if Crandall had a hotel!) We shopped, ate, swam, ate again, shopped again and swam some more! We had the best time and can't wait to go back again to camp next time :)

Little Girl, Big Blessing

I started praying for my babies since the day I found out I was pregnant with them. I pray for their spiritual growth and development as much as their physical. My prayer over my Chloe bump was that she would be a little girl with a sweet heart and that she would come to know Jesus and begin her walk with Him at an early age. So it goes without saying, that I was proud and humbled as I saw Him answer this prayer today.
We have had her in church since she was a baby, so she's learned lots of songs and stories about Jesus and how He loves her, but Chloe's spiritual journey really began when her Nawna became sick. She started asking lots and lots of questions and was so comforted by knowing that Nawna would be with Jesus and that she would be ok. When we talked about heaven and Jesus, you could just see a peace on her face. Her childlike faith and acceptance really was an example to us and how we should have peace too. Over the next year, she really started asking more questions and wanted to know how she could go to heaven too. On a Sunday morning in January she told me she wanted to be baptized. We talked about what it meant and made sure she understood what an important decision this was. She said "Yes Mommy, I understand and I want to pray now!" So we prayed with Bro John and she was sooooo excited. She wanted to tell everyone! She called all our family, told all her friends the next day at school and even wrote about it in her journal at school.

She was baptized this past Sunday and what a blessing it was. We had all our family and special friends there to celebrate with her. It just warmed my heart to see how many people love her and care so much about this special day. She was all smiles as she looked out in the congretation to see them all smiling back at her. I love my baby girl and I love that she is not afraid to tell everyone about this change in her life. I hope she will always remember the excitement she felt today and never hesitate to share her faith!
