Fishin' Buddies

We decided at the last minute to head to Mimi and Bopaws Lake Wednesday night. Daddy was off on Thursday so it worked perfectly. We had a popcorn pajama party and all slept late while Daddy got up early and went fishing. We had a yummy breakfast and then all took a boat ride. Hayden was wanting to go faster and Chloe was yelling slow down! We came back and Hayden caught the big one off of the pier :) We had a great time fishing with Daddy!

Patience is a virtue :)

We were on a 5 hr road trip in the car and let's just say little ones (and Daddies) are not so patient. I told Chloe "patience is a virtue"...Hayden's response to that was "Mommy, patience won't hurt you". We laughed and I decided that was just as good a phrase to coin...So, that's our new thing...patience won't hurt you!

Memorial Day Visit

For Memorial Day we loaded up the car and headed to see Uncle Brian and Aunt Nichole in Fredericksburg. I told Hayden we were going on a trip and he kept asking to see the trip...where was it??? Chloe had already asked if we were there yet before we even got to Scurry!

We had a great time! We stayed in their B&B cabin that is crazy nice, with fireplace, hot tub, you name it! The kids were in heaven. The loved the hot tub and riding around on the golf cart. We saw the bats take flight one evening in Alamo Springs and went to Luckenbach one night where we saw the biggest field of fireflies any of us had ever seen. The kids had a ball catching them and letting them go just to catch another one. We all were 5 years old for a bit. Craig, Papa and Uncle Brian took Hayden to the WW II Museum and saw a re-enactment while Aunt Nichole and I took Chloe to do girl stuff...ASA shopping :) Hayden couldn't stop talking about the pow pow show. The girl child was a tad grouchy after the long ride and going to bed late but I managed to spend a little $$ anyway. The biggest hit though was playing with Jasmine and Duke, their ferrets. We had the best time and can't wait to go back!

Chloe's Graduation

Well, today was filled with mixed emotions, sad that one phase is over but excited about a new one to come. Chloe woke me up and said "Mommy can you believe I am graduating today?" Woooooooaaaaah...sent me 13 years into the future really fast. They had a cute program and lots of fun. Hayden introduced the whole audience to his mimi, bopaw and papa at one point which brought lots of laughter. The slideshow gave me a lump in my throat of course, but I managed to survive the day without sobbing like I wanted to. My little girl is growing up and while I am so sad that my time at home with her is coming to a close I know we have so many wonderful memories ahead!

My Favorite Day

There are lots of special days during the year but Mother's Day is my fav. It's the day where we mom's celebrate what we do 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I love being a mommy more than anything, is it tiring at times...yes! Is it the most rewarding experience of my life...absolutely! So a day to celebrate my kids and the most awesome journey ever is definitely my fav.

It was a hard day this year. I wanted to celebrate my mom, my kids but at the same time remember one of the most wonderful mothers ever. Someone who set the bar so high. We miss our Nawna so much. Chloe came up to Craig this morning and all on her own said "Don't worry Daddy, Mimi will be your mommy too today" Brought smiles and tears all at the same time.

Rangers Game and Fireworks

Last night we got our Papa and headed for the Rangers Game, probably against our better judgement with the "flying pigs" and tornado watch...but it turned out to be a perfect night for a game! Of course the dot race is definitely the highlight and Chloe picked Green! How exciting!

This is Hayden pouting b/c Mommy didn't want him dipping his french fries in her "1 Dr. Pepper of the month!!" Which quickly turned to happy when Daddy got back with the "Icing" and popcorn. It was a late night since the fireworks were after the show but the kids had a wonderful time!
