We had the best time at Mimi and Bopaw's for Father's Day. We played at the beach and the pool and then had a yummy dinner and then headed to the lake to fish. We all caught lots of little ones and Daddy and Uncle Brad took us all for a boat ride. What an awesome day!
Well, for the second year in a row we tried to go to Gulf Shores and things didn't work out. Last year it was a kidney stone surgery and this year an oil spill...so we packed our bags and headed to Galveston! Of course like any trip, we heard "are we there yet?" about a hundred times...but we were barely out of Kaufman county when Hayden said "where are we anyway...Fornia?" We laughed and laughed and explained we had about 4 more hours to go and "Fornia" was nowhere in sight!
Despite the dirty water and miles of seaweed the kids LOVED IT! They could not have had more fun anywhere else. They jumped and jumped the waves. Hayden couldn't get enough of it, diving under the water over and over...he couldn't have cared less about the salt water. Mommy and Chloe were sick the first day and stayed in the bed but bounced back quickly :) We loved the pool at the hotel and went back and forth from the beach to the pool. The Rainforest Cafe was right beside our hotel so we had to add that to our list. We went to the Moody Gardens Aquarium and to NASA. The kids loved that as much as anything. Chloe even got to go on stage and be the assistant for the astronaut at one of the shows! We went to Kemah Boardwalk and had a blast! But...the hit of the trip was spending the night at Crystal and Dane's house. She made a special bed for them on the floor and they thought that was the best. We swam at her pool and had a yummy lunch before we headed home.
There was very minimal fussing and no major disasters...Great trip, great family...great memories!
Well, it didn't take long at all. Chloe lost her other front tooth at Mimi and Bopaws. There was a bit of concern that the tooth fairy wouldn't know where to come, but she made it! Another $5 this week, the tooth fairy may have to get a second job :)
Wow! What a busy 3 days...Eryka pulled Chloe's first front tooth Memorial Day and then while Chloe was at Mimi and Bopaw's house, Mimi pulled the other one. The tooth fairy was able to find her at Mimi's house and she got another $5 bill!!! The front teeth must be worth more b/c she only gave 4 quarters for the baby teeth. She looks so different but super cute without her teeth!
Summer has started off with a bang! We have been slippin and slidin and swimmin every chance we get. Carson and Cole came and played for the day and we raced on the triple slide! Then Hayden's buddy Brian came down and played and stayed for hotdogs on the trampoline :)
There have been several things Chloe has asked to do lately and I have said "Wait til summer"...well school is out and it's time to start marking things off that list...without a second to spare :) The first on her list was a lemonade stand. She made a sign that said "Chloe and Hayden's Lemonade Stand". And since we have such big plans for the summer, that calls for some cash...so the sign said $50 a cup! Ok, so we got our symbols mixed up :) We sat in the blazing sun for 30 minutes or so and made $12...quite the little business woman I might add!
Wow! May has been a whirlwind!!! Field Trip, Field Day, Family Picnic, Awards Assembly...Busy, busy!! She has loved Kindergarten and has loved Mrs. Angell. They went on their field trip to the Dallas Zoo and of course the highlight was riding on a school bus for the first time! We had a fun Family Picnic, but she was ready to head out after her last bite...let summer begin! At the awards assembly Chloe received the Reading award for her class, the art award from the art teacher and a Six Flags ticket for reading 600 minutes (Which is a lot for a kindergartner by the way...seeing how each book takes about 3 minutes, I think Mommy should have gotten a ticket too :)
