Little Girl, Big Blessing

I started praying for my babies since the day I found out I was pregnant with them. I pray for their spiritual growth and development as much as their physical. My prayer over my Chloe bump was that she would be a little girl with a sweet heart and that she would come to know Jesus and begin her walk with Him at an early age. So it goes without saying, that I was proud and humbled as I saw Him answer this prayer today.
We have had her in church since she was a baby, so she's learned lots of songs and stories about Jesus and how He loves her, but Chloe's spiritual journey really began when her Nawna became sick. She started asking lots and lots of questions and was so comforted by knowing that Nawna would be with Jesus and that she would be ok. When we talked about heaven and Jesus, you could just see a peace on her face. Her childlike faith and acceptance really was an example to us and how we should have peace too. Over the next year, she really started asking more questions and wanted to know how she could go to heaven too. On a Sunday morning in January she told me she wanted to be baptized. We talked about what it meant and made sure she understood what an important decision this was. She said "Yes Mommy, I understand and I want to pray now!" So we prayed with Bro John and she was sooooo excited. She wanted to tell everyone! She called all our family, told all her friends the next day at school and even wrote about it in her journal at school.

She was baptized this past Sunday and what a blessing it was. We had all our family and special friends there to celebrate with her. It just warmed my heart to see how many people love her and care so much about this special day. She was all smiles as she looked out in the congretation to see them all smiling back at her. I love my baby girl and I love that she is not afraid to tell everyone about this change in her life. I hope she will always remember the excitement she felt today and never hesitate to share her faith!
